Bil-Guard � Hatch Railing System
Fixed hatch railing system provides a permanent means of fall protection for roof hatch openings. Meets and exceeds OSHA fall protection regulations (29 FR 1910.23). Bil-Guard� models are available for most roof hatch and automatic fire vent sizes (shown on Type S Roof Hatch).

Curb Option - Built-in Louvers
Bilco roof products can be supplied with louvers built into their curb. Louvers provide continuous building ventilation and are equipped with a standard insect screen. In some areas, louvers are required in vents over elevator shafts to meet elevator-shaft code requirements.

Curb Option - Curb Liner
Metal insulation liner of the same material as the curb and capflashing. Ideal for applications where aggressive adhesives or torch applied weather proofing systems are being used.

Curb Option - Fully Enclosed
Insulation liner of the same material as the curb, which replaces the capflashing. Used with hot applied roofing systems or where the hatch is welded directly to the roofing panel.

Curb Option - Fully Enclosed with Apron
Curb design allows the hatch top be easily installed on top of existing concrete, wood, or metal curbs. Ideal for situations where the roofing material is applied prior to the hatch or vent arriving on-site.

Curb Option - Modification for Metal Roofs
Base flanges of all Bilco roof hatches and fire vents can be fabricated with built-in configurations for most brands of metal building roof panels. This option offers simplified installation, and includes a built-in self-drainage feature that eliminates water accumulation on the up-slope side.

Electric Activation
Automatic fire vents can be supplied with an electric Thermolatch� to allow the vents to be operated by a smoke detector or fire alarm control panel. In addition to electric activation, these vents feature fusible link activation and provisions for manual operation. Electric latches can be supplied for 115 VAC, 24 VAC, 220 VAC, and 24V DC power requirements.

Fall Protection Grating
Fall Protection Grating System allows workers to safely inspect pumps and monitor underground areas. Meeting OSHA requirements for fall protection on access doors, the system is now available from Bilco as a factory installed option on selected models.

LadderUP� Safety Post
LadderUP� Safety Posts provide easier, safer ladder access through roof hatches; floor, vault and sidewalk doors; and manholes. This telescoping post permanently mounts to the top two rungs of any fixed ladder, providing a positive hand-hold and enabling the user to enter or exit an opening in an upright and balanced position.

Lock Option - High Security Detention
Detention locks provide keyed interior and exterior access and are ideal for correctional facilities and other buildings requiring a maximum level of security. Bilco roof scuttles can be can be factory prepared to receive many leading brands of detention locks when specified. Roof hatches are supplied with lock mounting bracket, strike, and watertight deck plate for fast, easy field installation of the detention lock.

Bilco floor doors can be can be factory prepared to receive many leading brands of detention locks when specified. Doors are supplied with lock mounting bracket, strike, and hinged flap cover for fast, easy field installation of the detention lock.

Lock Option - Keyed Cylinder
All Bilco roof hatches can be supplied with a Deadbolt cylinder lock when specified. Cylinder locks provide keyed exterior access and are available with either keyed or turn knob interior access. Cylinder locks are an ideal security enhancement for many applications. For added security and weathertightness, the lock cylinder is accessed from the exterior through a gasketed, threaded deck plate.

Lock Option - McGard Cover Plug
All Bilco floor doors can be supplied with a McGard security cover Plug when specified. Cover plugs fit into the threaded recepticle of a standard floor door slam latch and are the easist way to add security to a floor door that is already installed. Cover plugs feature a unique security pattern head that can only be removed using the matching socket key supplied.

Lock Option - Recessed Padlock Hasp
All Bilco floor doors can be supplied with a Recessed Padlock Hasp lock when specified. Padlock Hasps feature a flushed hinged lid and fully welded receptacle that is designed to receive a standard padlock (padlock not supplied).

Lumivent Automatic Fire Vent
All the security and value of an automatic fire vent with the added benefits of a skylight. The Lumivent� is UL-listed and features a multi-wall polycarbonate cover design that resists UV degradation and offers superior insulation performance over traditional domes.

Option - Debris Gasket
EPDM gasket is mechanically fastened to the perimeter of the frame to reduce the amount of dirt and debris that enters the drainage channel (sectional view of frame shown). Gasket reduces required maintenance and is ideal for high traffic sidewalk areas. (Available on Type J-AL and J-AL H20 doors only).

Option - Explosion Release
Bilco automatic fire vents can be equipped to operate as explosion vents or as combination fire/explosion vents. Explosion vents are designed to limit structural damage to a building in the event of an explosion by releasing internal pressure. Explosion release mechanism (shown) is preset and factory-tested to release at between 25-30 pounds per square foot (122-146 kg/m2) of pressure on the underside of the covers.

Option - Grating Covers
Bilco floor, vault and sidewalk doors may be specified to include steel (shown) or aluminum grating. Grating panels are available for pedestrian and wheel load applications.

Option - Manual Winch Operation
Bilco roof hatches and automatic fire vents can be supplied with manual winch operation to open and close covers remotely. Winch operation provides a convenient means of ventilating work areas in manufacturing facilities and is a less expensive alternative to electric motor operation. Product is supplied with manual winch and wall mounting bracket (cable and additional pulleys can be supplied at additional cost).

Option - Motor Operation
All Bilco commercial products can be supplied with electric motor operation to open and close covers with the push of a button. Motor operation provides a convenient means of ventilating work areas in manufacturing facilities. Product is supplied with built-in motor operator, push button control station (shown) and wiring diagram.

Option - Special Finish
Where specified, Bilco Model J, JD and Q steel doors and frames can be
supplied with a hot-dip galvanized finish (ASTM A-123)(shown). All aluminum doors can be supplied with an anodized finish. Other custom finishes can be supplied when specified.

Option - Type 316 Stainless Steel Hardware
For installation in highly corrosive environments or when prolonged exposure to hot water or steam is anticipated, all Bilco products are available with Type 316 stainless steel hardware throughout (standard on type J-AL floor doors). Included are all parts of the latch and lifting mechanism assemblies; hold-open and guide arm and guides; and all brackets, hinges, pins and fasteners.

Security Series Roof Hatch
Constructed of heavier gauge materials for high security applications such as correctional facilities, banks, embassies and pharmaceutical buildings. Security Series roof hatches can be fabricated for field installation of many leading brands of security locks. Other options include security glazing and gunports (shown with optional detention lock, security glazing, and tnemic finish).

Transit System Emergency Evacuation Doors
Type JD and JD-AL emergency evacuation doors are designed to provide egress from underground rapid transit system platforms and tunnels in emergency situations. Doors are designed with stainless steel panic hardware and compression spring operators for ease of operation. Other important features include H-20 reinforcing, handrails, custom signage and a slip-resistant cover finish.
